Lucky number 7! Well, I don't really believe in "luck," but I sure do feel blessed to be celebrating 7 years of Dressie Jessie Smocking! As I contemplated what to say in this blog post, I decided it might be fun to share 7 things about myself so you can get to know a little more about the person behind the company. :)
1. I am a dog person. I love all dogs, especially my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Camper. He's curled up beside me as I type. He's 11 years old and has brought immeasurable joy to our family. Want to teach your children about unconditional love and compassion? Get a dog. ;)
2. I teach Sunday School every week to the most precious group of first graders. I adore my time with them, especially now that my own children are (mostly) grown.
3. Country music makes me happy. I'm not really a concert go-er, but I love going for back road drives in my husband's truck with the windows down and country music playing. It's just good for my soul.
4. The older I get, the more I enjoy gardening. Vegetables, cut flowers...I just can't get enough of watching things grow, and being outside is my happy place.
5. Speaking of "happy place," the Outer Banks is my favorite place to vacation. I could sit and watch the waves roll in and out all day long. There is something very comforting in knowing that no matter what is going on in our (crazy) world, the waves roll in and the waves roll out. It reminds me that God is still in control, and I love that.
6. I prefer talking on the phone over texting. I know, I know...not many will agree with me on this, but I'm a "talker."
7. I am not a competitive person. I am married to a very competitive person, and somehow all 4 of our children inherited his "competitive spirit." When we play board games, my husband describes it as "5 Alphas and Jessie," ha! I'm team, "let's just all have fun!" My family cannot relate, lol.
On the surface, running a small business and NOT being competitive don't exactly go hand in hand. However, I think it works perfectly. I truly wish my competitors well and try not to focus too much on what they are or are not doing. Instead, I concentrate on being the best version of Dressie Jessie Smocking that I can be. That means I pour my efforts into bringing you the best quality children's clothing possible, while maintaining family-friendly prices. Beyond that, it means shipping quickly and treating all of my customers with kindness and respect. I appreciate each of you so much, and I hope that shines through in all that I do.

Congrats on 7 years! We have gotten several special outfits over the years (first birthday dress for my daughter, Christmas outfits for her and my son last year, and a couple special things for Disney for him from the warehouse sale)! Hoping to see school and fall items soon!
Love these clothes. I have two grown daughters who thankfully love to dress their sons traditionally. I have three grandsons and it is a challenge to find traditional cute boy clothes for little ones. My grandsons range in age from 31 months, 24 months, and nearly 4 months. Thank you for not forgetting that moms (and grandmothers) like cute boy clothes as much as those for girls.

Wow I loved reading your blog about you! I feel like we could be friends I love church and country music also, except I’m a little more wild in that I love riding backroads with my husband listening to country music on our Harley Davidson. We had a Harley before we had kids, but sold it when our first son was born. You can’t bring babies on a motorcycle. After 3 kids and a pandemic and my husband turning 40 we decided to get one again for the simple fact that you can’t bring kids on a Harley so it’s our alone time. I love your clothing line and have always relied on you for the fast delivery.
