Happy March! In like a lion, out like a lamb...Right now it's cold and windy in Richmond, VA. I'm ready to say goodbye to the "lion" and hello to the "lamb." Come on, spring!
Today I'm excited to introduce you to Esmei. I mean, how cute is she?!
Esmei is almost 2 years old and was born with Bladder Exstrophy (her bladder was on the outside of her abdomen). Additionally, she has no left kidney, and unfortunately, her right kidney isn't functioning properly either. She has already had 3 surgeries, and more are in her future. But the GOOD news is, she is due to join her forever family in Tennessee next month! As you might imagine, this family can't wait to embrace their new daughter, bring her home and begin the medical treatments she so desperately needs.
This is where Dressie Jessie Smocking enters the story. We've been sponsoring a fundraiser, selling this smocked panda bishop, with proceeds going to help offset the travel expenses associated with Esmei's adoption. This is the 3rd time we've helped support the adoptions of international children needing serious medical attention. I am humbled and grateful that this business has provided me a means by which to help these wonderful families. I stand in complete awe watching all they do to fight for their babies on the other side of the world. It's truly a beautiful and remarkable thing to experience.
