Hello, friends! I've been writing this blog in my mind for about a week, contemplating what I want to say and the best way to say it. Considering we are experiencing a worldwide pandemic, I have so many emotions (I'm sure just like all of you). I'm mostly succeeding at putting my faith over fear, but I would be lying if I said I haven't had a few good cries.
Did you know that in May Dressie Jessie Smocking will celebrate 5 years in business? 5 years! What a rollercoaster it has been, and 2020 surely hasn't had the start I would have imagined. Like most small businesses, I feel vulnerable and unsure. That said, I have been overwhelmed by your kindness and support. In the midst of all that is going on, so many of you have reached out to check on me and offer words of encouragement. I don't know how to put my gratitude into words. Truly, I don't. It says to me that over these (almost) 5 years, I haven't just built a business, but a family of customers. I am forever grateful!
As I maneuver through these unprecedented times, please know that it is my goal and heart's desire to come out stronger and better on the other side. If you're willing, I would love to share with you ways that you can help.

Small businesses are the backbone of our country. As I planned out my thoughts for this blog post, so many of the small businesses that I personally love and support flooded my mind. I know they are scared. I know they are worried. I know they are unsure. I'm sure you all have many small businesses that are near and dear to your hearts as well. I kept thinking, "how can I help them? What can I do?" Well, in addition to continuing to support my favorites, I want to encourage you to do the same. Here's how...

I LOVE your store/site! I have shopped with you since oldest was a baby for 4 years, holiday after holiday! I recommend lots of mama’s to you because I have always been so pleased with the quality of the clothing, the turn-around time, and also that someone signs each invoice personally! Hope is my granddaughter’s name. She is a rainbow baby and has truly brought HOPE to us all. My hope is for everyone to continue supporting each other. Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. You are right – together we can get through these trying times. In the end we will all be stronger and kinder to everyone.
