Change can be hard.
In my personal life, I am about to go through a BIG change. My oldest son is heading off to Virginia Tech, over 3 hours away from home. I keep telling my friends that if I wanted a career in acting, now would be the time to pursue it. All I have to do is think of that moment when I turn to walk away, leaving my "baby" to begin his new adventure, and I start to cry. While I'm excited (thrilled, really!) for him to begin this new chapter, I am overcome with emotion. I mean, he has lived with us for over 18 years, and now his bedroom will sit empty. I'm going to miss him so much! That said, this is a wonderful opportunity and experience for him, and I'm so thankful to have a front row seat as his future unfolds.

So, back to change. The next change is one that affects you, my Dressie Jessie Smocking customers. After 2+ years of offering free shipping, and countless hours of contemplation, it is time to make a change. Effective August 21, 2017, all orders will have a flat rate shipping charge of $2.99.
Since the start of Dressie Jessie Smocking in May 2015, postal rates have increased as have the cost of shipping supplies. These are things I have no control over, and I am unwilling to sacrifice the quality or affordability of our items. Therefore, I am instituting a $2.99 flat rate shipping fee. Please know that I am trying to keep the shipping charge as low and as fair as possible. Truthfully, this will not pay the cost of postage for most orders, but it will help offset it.

That is very fair. You have been so generous, and $2.99 is still far better than others. No matter the shipping, I will continue to buy your sweet dresses for my little girls!
I think that is a very fair postage price and not too much to ask of the customer. You have been most generous to offer free shipping for as long as you have.
